while this site does an effective job of calling attention to the ubiquitous use of heterosexist language on twitter, it’s clear that it falls into sad traditions of white men running the forefront of lgbt resistance. addressing heterosexism and homophobia does not necessitate acting like racism and sexism are over. to the contrary, truly addressing heterosexism with any sort of real effect that matters, necessitates that we understand how racism and sexism are still very much alive.
